Who we are

BeachBox Coopers Beach provides boutique accommodation and coffee at 31 Coopers Drive, Coopers Beach, New Zealand. In this notice, “BeachBox”, “we”, “our” and “us” refer to BeachBox Coopers Beach.

Information we collect

We may collect:

• your name, contact details and the information you provide when making or discussing a booking;
• stay details, guest numbers, preferences, requests and communications with us;
• transaction and accounting records associated with your booking; and
• limited website-use information, including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, and how you arrived at our website.

We collect information directly from you, through our website and booking systems, and from booking channels you choose to use.

How we use it

We use personal information to manage reservations and payments, communicate before and after a stay, provide our services, respond to enquiries, maintain business and accounting records, meet legal obligations, and improve our website and guest experience.

Bookings, payments and service providers

Direct online bookings are supported by FreeOnlineBooking and payments are processed by Windcave. Payment-card information is handled through Windcave’s secure payment service and is not stored on the BeachBox website. If you book through a sales channel such as Booking.com, that provider also processes information under its own privacy terms.

We may share information with providers that help us operate our accommodation, website, communications, payments and accounting, or where disclosure is required by law. Some providers may process information outside New Zealand. We do not sell or rent personal information.

Cookies and Google Analytics

Our website and BeachBox booking pages use Google Analytics to help us understand how people find and use the site. Google Analytics uses technologies including the _ga cookie to distinguish visits and prepare aggregated reports. It may collect information such as page interactions, approximate location, browser, device and traffic source. We use this information to improve the website and the direct-booking journey—not to identify visitors personally.

You can restrict or delete cookies using your browser settings. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Keeping information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and retain it only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including legal, tax and accounting requirements.
